Dara Sakor Ocean Course
Situated along the beautiful coastline of Koh Kong, resides the Union Group’s Dara Sakor Seashore Resort which will officially open its door to visitors at the end of the year. Cambodia Golf Today made the trip to Koh Kong to meet up with the team of Dara Sakor and check out what the latest golf destination in the Kingdom of Cambodia has to offer.
The goliath project started in 2010 when the Union Group signed a contract with the Royal Government of Cambodia and construction began at the end of 2011. With an area the size of 360 KM2, a mega city is in the process of surfacing in the Province of Koh Kong.
“In Asia, the tourism industry is growing and coastline value is also increasing. We have found that Koh Kong is rich with stunning nature and beautiful coastline. As such, we decided to invest here and now it has proven that our decision is correct. According to the newest report, Cambodia is among one of the three best investment areas and with a beautiful coastline to boast.” said Mr. Li Tao, Director of Dara Sakor Seashore Resort and one of the Directors of Union Group.
The coastal paradise will be setting its focus on attracting local visitors; however, international customers are just as equally important, especially from other areas in the region such as China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries that has close relations with Cambodia.
The enormous master plan includes hotels, entertainment centers, a theme park, beach resorts and many other facilities to make it a major tourist hub in the years to come. Part of the initial stages of the development is a 54 hole golf resort which includes a Links Course, Mountain Course and an Ocean Course. The aforementioned Ocean Course, which top government officials tested its first 9 holes in October 2014, was the first of the 3 courses to have finished in 2015 with the Hill View Course to have opened in May 2017 including a Driving Range and new Hotel.
